ACV is Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple Cider Vinegar has over 1000 uses. There are many different kinds of Apple Cider Vinegar. But the one that I choose to use is an organic kind from Braggs call Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar. You can find Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar in most of your grocer who sells organic or whole foods. Jewels, Wal-Mart and Target may not carry it.

Let’s talk about the benefits of using ACV

ACV is like a miracle drug. It has a ton of valuable uses included health care, home care, hair care and cooking. Some of the great attributes of ACV are as follows:

  • Helps maintain a youthful, vibrant body

  • Helps fight germs and bacteria naturally

  • Helps keep blood the right consistency

  • Helps normalize the urine, thus relieving the frequent urge to urinate

  • Helps digestion and assimilation

  • Helps relieve sore throats, laryngitis, and throat tickles and cleans out toxins

  • Helps sinus, asthma and flu sufferers to breathe easier and more normally

  • Helps maintain healthy skin, soothes sunburn

  • Helps prevent itching scalp, dry hair and baldness, and banishes dandruff

  • Helps control and normalize weight.

How does ACV help with Dandruff, Itching Scalp, Dry and Thinning Hair and Baldness?

The high acidity (organic malic acid) plus the powerful enzymes (the mother’s life chemicals) in ACV kill the bottle bacillus, a germ responsible for many scalp and hair conditions. The problems caused by this are dandruff, itching scalp, thinning hair and often baldness.

Every hair has its own oil can. Bottle bacilli can clog these tiny openings. Scales and small dry crusts are formed, resulting in itching and dandruff. The oil-starved hairs either fall out or break off, causing thinning of the hair and often baldness. ACV not only kills bottle bacillus, but stimulates the oil cans to a healthier, more balanced activity.

Pour 3 TBSPS ACV in a cup. Part the hair in sections and sponge ACV directly onto scalp and wrap head with a towel. For dry hair weekly apply castor oil or olive oil to hair and ACV to scalp, then wrap. Leave on for 30 minutes or up to 3 hours before shampooing. The ACV helps to restore the proper acid/alkaline balance to the scalp. For acute cases, do daily or before every shampoo. To promote hair growth in bald and thinning areas – rub on ACV, then royal jelly. Some people are getting great results.

For a healthy after-shampoo rinse and for more shine and body add 1/3 cup ACV to a quart of rinse water. I pre-mix it in a plastic bottle and keep it in the shower. Spray the hair with and let it air dry.

ACV rinses are also great for build up in the hair, especially in locs. If you add 1/3 cup of ACV to a quart of water, spray into the locs and put on a plastic cap. Allow the vinegar solution to eat at the buildup. It may take anywhere from 1-3 hours for the process to complete, depending on how much buildup is in the loc and how deep. This process may have to be repeated a couple of times before the buildup is completely rid of the loc, if it is deeply embedded into the loc. This rinse will not damage the hair, yet strengthen the hair and provide maximum body and shine to the locs over time. Along with a healthy diet, the ACV rinses will prove to have your locs luster shine through and provide ultimate longevity.
